nellsatl on blogs pt.1 negative blogging

Everybody has a blog. Its easy to get a blog. Everyone loves blogs.  blogs are soooo powerful we took the power away from hip hop mags (XXL VIBE SOURCE who reads those still?) Blogs can make it passable for someone (like me) tto have a platform to speak on any amount of topics and that’s what makes a blog great, but with the increased amount of negative blogging the blog “era” has reached its golden age and maybe even passed it all together.

I wanna say this first. I love blogs and I love my blog and a few others, but the problem that I believe we will see here in the next 6 months to a year is with hip hop blogs and hip hoppers. At some point when blogs (as a whole) spoke baddly about something in hip hop  people listned, But over time blogs became known for that kind of thing making that the norm like a type of pornography, poo pooin on every single move that anybody in hip hop makes. like when people try new things within their craft (of music) bloggers seem to taste blood in the water and go in ATTACK mode coming down on the artist like a ton of bricks. hip hop people are rebelious in nature we will only take the bullshit for so long, and rappers are starting to rebel

i feel like now we are almost at the turning point in this battle, and on the horizon i see bloggers in a much weaker position then they are in now. power will go away from little bloggers..(UMMMM ME INCLUDED) and go to bigger names in blogging. power will flow back to “hip hop” magazines and away from blog sites, and this is all because “rappers” are becoming fed up with the low hanging dark cloud over their heads that is the BLOGESPHERE, teaming with excitement over the next juicy bit of information to rant about, so i suggest that bloggers get their shit together and write something that is positive every once and a while, or continue on trashing everything creative that comes down the line, and see where that gets blogs.

 

just to clear this up i think MANY MANY bloggers need to open their minds to new things and not try to destroy everything that strays from everything else that happen in the past.
